Roof Construction Update

-10/16/26

Pumps are restored, chemical and heating systems are running, and with just a few minor fixes to be made we believe everything to be recovered. We will spend the next two weeks re-training our lifeguard staff and re-opening date contingent on the State's Division of Health Inspection.

-10/2/26

Work on the suction side piping is finished. We are re-refilling the pool today and hope to have the pumps spinning and water treated quickly for a long overdue re-opening.

-9/8/26

Attempting to restore the main pump resulted in a failure of the manifold leading to the pump. We are moving to replace the affected piping and apologize for these continued delays.

- 8/26/26

We are chasing down the few remaining electrical problems that have emerged and prevent our final health inspection. We hope to have everything smoothed out in the coming weeks and will post a firm re-opening date. We apologize and hope to see guests soon.

Upon re-opening for two months - Join us weekly on Fridays for free entry to the facility as a thank you for your long patience in this project.

- 8/06/26

Major work is concluding with final inspections scheduled for the coming week. We plan to finally re-fill the pool the week of the 10th, new pump install on the 17th, and begin final clean-ups and staff re-training.

The Fernley Swimming Pool will be training and hiring for lifeguard staff upon re-opening. Join the interest list below if you would like information on classes and hiring when available. The Fernley Pool will be hiring to fill up to 15 vacant positions in the coming months.

- 7/20/26

Roof panel installation is nearing completion and expected to conclude this week. Several weeks are remaining for finishing work, Ducting, Lighting, and heat detector installation. Once major work is completed, final inspections and permitting will be completed for re-opening.

-6/28/26

Multiple Roof panels have been delivered with damage from the manufacturer. We are proceeding with the re-clad of the roof while waiting for re-fabrication of certain panels.

- 6/4/26

Roof panels are being delivered and exterior work to remove existing and re-cladding has begun with an updated expected ~6 week install.

Interior work is concluding with natatorium painting and electrical improvements entering finishing work.

The District is anticipating re-opening in mid July.

- 5/14/26

The District has been notified of a failure in the roofing material manufacturing and are expecting a possible delay in the project due to this. -Panels are expected to be delivered in late May with a ~5 week installation window.

Interior work has progressed on schedule with the drop ceiling removed, electrical and fire/security alarm systems replaced, new insulation and wall panels installed.

The District anticipates re-opening in July 2026.
